Work with an agent

Tano lets you and an agent you configure work with the same local Markdown folder. You choose and configure the agent tools and model yourself.

Share a working folder

Open a real working folder in the desktop app. You can organize content in the editor while an agent with access to that folder reads and edits its Markdown files. Its file changes then become visible in Tano.

Give the agent a clear folder, goal, and boundaries. Before starting, check whether it can modify files and which tools it will use. You can write workspace guidance from the desktop app's "Work with an agent" entry when needed.

Handle changes from both sides

Tano checks external changes against the file version you started with. It tries to merge independent edits automatically. When both sides edit the same place, it preserves the conflicting content for your review. Keep important history in Git or a backup tool you trust.

Current limits

Tano has no built-in AI model and does not start an agent in the browser demo. The online workspace currently has no bridge to local agent files. This workflow depends on the desktop app, a local folder, and an agent you configure.
