Connect external calendars or task lists to planning in Tano. Calendars and Todos have separate connections; file import is a one-time way to bring in existing items.
Start a connection
Open the calendar or Todo sync-and-import action in the planning sidebar’s scope menu. Choose a provider, a remote calendar or list, and whether to save to personal planning or the current workspace.
| Category | Provider | Connection |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar | Google Calendar | Authorization in your system browser |
| Calendar | iCloud, Feishu | Provider CalDAV address and app password or credentials |
| Calendar / Todo | CalDAV | HTTPS endpoint; Todos require VTODO support |
| Todo | Todoist | API token |
| Todo | Microsoft To Do | Authorization in your system browser |
| Calendar / Todo | .ics file |
Preview and import without an account |
Account connections require native desktop capabilities. The browser demo and mobile currently support file import only. Google and Microsoft also require a valid OAuth app configuration; if the build has not supplied one, enter your own in the connection form. Provider permissions and organization policies can affect availability.
Choose what to sync
Connected items sync in both directions by default, or you can choose receive-only. Read-only calendars use receive-only mode. Uploading existing unconnected items in the scope is off by default; check the scope before enabling it.
Calendar connections handle ordinary events; Todo connections handle completion-enabled events and compatible tasks. Todos exchange titles, descriptions, due dates, and completion without clearing the separate local schedule. Internal document references are sent as names while local descriptions retain full references.
Automatic checks run every five minutes while the app is open and the window is visible. You can also sync immediately. There is no resident background sync after closing the app. Workspace connections run only when their workspace is open and writable.
Import an .ics file
Check the preview, dates, and time zones, then select items and the destination scope. Calendars read VEVENT and Todos read VTODO. Reimporting skips existing identities without overwriting local changes.
Import creates a local snapshot, not a continuing account connection. Repeated events expand within the displayed time window. Unknown time zones, missing identities, and invalid dates are reported separately. A single import accepts up to 5 MB and 5,000 items.
Conflicts and disconnecting
Independent field changes can merge; overlapping changes produce a conflict. Accepting the remote version first preserves a local conflict copy. A missing remote item is not automatically treated as deleted, and archiving a local Todo does not send a delete request to the provider.
If a create result is unknown, check the source app before creating again. Pausing or disconnecting preserves local items. Removing device credentials does not revoke authorization at the provider.
Passwords and tokens stay in the system credential store. Connection settings and sync state live in device application data. Items belong to the scope you selected. Workspace file sync is a separate feature.
