Start meeting notes, weekly reports, and handoffs from a shared structure. Each generated document is ordinary Markdown that you can edit independently.
Create from a template
- Open document templates from the workspace menu or the document’s More (⋯) menu.
- Choose a meeting, weekly report, or handoff template and fill in its title, date, owner, and other fields.
- Check the content preview, then create the document.
Templates provide structure. Fill in actual progress yourself, or ask the assistant to propose content based on selected references.
Save your own template
Create or edit a template in the template window, optionally reusing the current document. Placeholders use double braces:
# {{title}}
Date: {{date}}
Owner: {{owner}}
Project: {{project}}
## Progress this week
## Open questions
## Next steps
Custom fields starting with an English letter are supported too. Check the actual substitutions in the preview. Templates do not remain linked: editing a template does not rewrite previously generated documents.
Workspace storage
Custom templates live under .tano/templates/. Their content is Markdown, with the name stored in the same file’s tanoTemplate YAML property. Templates do not appear in normal document search or reference targets; the template-name property is omitted from generated documents.
Include .tano/ in backups and moves. Template saves check for external changes; overlapping edits keep your draft so you can save another copy or reread the file. See Backup and recovery.
